some more concept art

this is what the kitchen should look like. Night, long shadows, dark. Some houseware laying around the tables etc.

stealing rat, action pose

working on stealing rat's action pose

That didn't work. Here's my final action pose for cheese stealing rat.
and development as usual

singing rat, action pose

trying some action poses for lead singer
and 4 hours later:
and development:

cheese stealing rat

this little guy will try to steal some cheese and will be caught :)

Keywords for character:
- weak, small, coward but greedy at the same time
- rather mice than rat
- a bit clumsy

Also a quick character development preview

singing rat, 8 hours later

ok I guess it's finished now. I modified my previous draft, the rat started looking to evil & powerful (it's supposed to look funny, remember). I tried to add a bit jamaican feeling as well (noticed the hat, didn't you?) so it would fit better with overall song style. So my lead singer is "bad clever reggae rat who owns the place" Maybe I should draw him with 5 toes, thinking about that...

... some hours later....got some feedback from fellow classmates and did a quick redraw for foot, knees and created a tail, (somehow forgot that, thanks micgaz!).

Also a quck chararcter development preview

singing rat, second attempt

work in progress, creating bad-boy look for lead singer. Not really happy with hands at this point, probably will redraw.

Keywords for character:
- bad-boy, evil grin
- leather vest, leather trousers
- massive gold necklace, ear-ring
- tattoo, black gloves
- chain at the belt
- owns the place

singing rat

this one is supposed to look bad-guy. I'm having troubles giving him the look, still looks so friendly and innocent :)

concept art

I've started drawing up some ideas for my rats. Following is my very first drawing. Needs an improvement :)
